This refuge was originally named Havasu Lake National Wildlife Refuge and includes 30 miles of the Lower Colorado River through the Topock Gorge. Within the refuge, Topock Marsh spans 4000 acres and provides important habitat for migratory birds.

Ivey said year saved was 2006 but otherwise unknown when this list was determined by Manning, hence year noted as 2006 or prior. This is on a list of known colonies of Western and Clark's grebes. Surveys conducted June through September. No year nor other info provided.
