Comments:
This was the state's first Wildlife Area, established in 1944. It is spring fed and may have existed for 10,000 years or so. However, the pumping of water for agriculture threatens to dry it up. Includes areas of Dutchy Lake, Gold Dike Impoundment, Rest Lake, Link Marsh, North Bullgate Refuge, and North Levee Impoundment

Comments:

50-75 pairs of Western and Clark's grebes described as nesting in the named areas of Summer Lake WA but does not specify by site so lumping them all in one record. Also no indication of year but assuming in the 2000s due to date of report and description of habitat enhancements. Dutchy Lake supports a large colony of mixed grebes.
