- There are a few Bitter Lakes and two in Day County so uncertain if this is the right one but it is the biggest one and near Waubay. Maximum depth of 30 feet.

Comments:
Combined all Bitter Lake sites though they might be different parts of the lake. Some years have numbers and range of 1 to 3 chicks per brood is estimated if brood number is reported. Each year there were chicks except for 2005 when only one nest was found though there were probably more. Observers were Nancy Drilling and SDBBA 2015.
